Kevin drove up for the weekend and we had quite an adventure in Oakland
on Saturday and in Santa Cruz on Sunday. Sunday's more interesting
because it involves BIKES!

We parked the car in downtown and biked to Natural Bridges. It's so prettyyy.
We then biked to the Beach Boardwalk & rode the Giant Dipper. It's as good as my 13-year-old self remembers it. While waiting in line, I learned some fun facts: the roller coaster had a cameo in Dangerous Minds, and more impressively, it opened in 1924. Hot diggity.
Kevin used his keen google search skills and found us lunch at Bonny Doon Vineyard.
They have a Roswell Hour aka Happy Hour from 3-6pm, wine by the glass 50% off.
We wine tasted & dined on some pretty spectacular dishes. This one
made me chuckle: 38 North Confit Duck Leg Cigar with Leek Ash. Duck was a little dry but all the flavors complimented each other rather beautifully.
We ended the day as every day in Santa Cruz ends... with a double scoop at Penny Ice Creamery. We opted for bitter caramel & tahitian vanilla in their house made waffle cone, and took home a pint of peach sorbet for my mama.
