My Labour of Love

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Took me a while to finish this one. In the name of self-healing I decided to finish it tonight, and to my surprise there really wasn't much more to add, mainly the paper airplane & their smiling faces. It feels good it's done. We'll see if there are anymore treehouse kiddies in me. Could be the last one in a while... I guess time will tell. Using relationships & other people for material is tricky. Never thought there was an artistic angle to being self-sustainable, haha. Well, new personal goal is to find my inner muse so let the adventure begin!

On another note, I can't wait to scan this and make prints :)

Tree a Day #19: NEW PAINTING in progress :)

Friday, March 19, 2010

I am so so so SO excited about how this one is turning out. Two hours well spent! :D While sitting in the neighborhood coffee shop painting this, the filipino version of James Marsden sat next me. Needless to say... AWESOME times a million.

Tree a Day #18

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

I really need a new sketchbook. Drawing on the inside cover is too much. Anyway, saw a tree today that looked like two but was actually one and it gave me an idea for a new tree house painting! Here's the rough sketch. It comes from the heart. I'm so excited to paint it :)

Om Namah Shivaya

"I honor the divinity that resides within me"
I think I'd rather tell people that instead of Happy New Year or Happy Valentine's Day. These are both occasions for celebrating and I think there should be more holidays about honoring yourself. I was brainstorming drawings for the holiday but I churned out this instead. I was racing against the setting sun & my pen running out of ink (which it did) so it's unfinished but I think it still looks sweet. I think there are only two people on this planet (including me) who will understand completely what the drawing is about... just thought I'd say hello to the treehouse today.
