The 2013 Calendar is coming!

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Victoria of Paper & Type and I are teaming up for our 3rd collaborative calendar. We like experimenting with different formats, themes, and sizes (see 2012 & 2011) so we're trying the poster angle this year. Have a peek!

Treasure Island Flea

Monday, May 30, 2011

Victoria of Paper & Type and I did some serious adventuring Saturday. We dropped by Modern Mouse to replenish inventory (aka YES! P&T is now at Modern Mouse!) & headed to the first Treasure Island Flea!
It was to do research on whether or not this was something we wanted to do in the future.
VVVVVV letter press letters. Too perfect.
It looks like this is the pic Victo took but it's not :)
We both walked away with goodies from Cisco of Restore & Rework. Victo found an addition to her collection of etiquette books and I found a wire basket for my booth. It was hard to walk away--he curates his antique finds very very well. Look for him in fleas scattered throughout the Bay.
I loved the look of these giant letters scattered on the concrete. The view from the flea!
Oh, & most importantly... there was a free photobooth ;)

I think you shall see us there vending at some point this summer/fall!

Calendar Giveaway Winners & SALE!

Thursday, December 30, 2010

Thank you to everyone who submitted a beautiful story for the contest! I really enjoyed reading them. Each one definitely got the creative gears turning & the heart warming. After some serious rereading & thinking, I've selected Chris Tarver as the winner of the print & calendar. My yeti hat (pictured above) & fate chose Tara Tran as the winner of the random raffle. I'll not ruin the surprise and reveal the story. Instead, you'll have to wait for the painting & print :)

I have a special goodie for all who submitted, too. So there's some incentive to participate in the next contest ;)

Now, on to the SALE!
The 2011 calendar by le petit elefant & {paper & type} is now $16 instead of $20! Victoria & I only have a few (seriously!) so visit either of our shops, le petit elefant & {paper & type}, to purchase!

Happy New Year & as my mom says, make good choices!

There Are Places I Remember

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

all my life though some have changed
some forever not for better
some have gone and some remain
all these places have their moments
with lovers and friends i still can recall...
Barcaaaaade!

Victoria Vu of paper and type, and long term friendship is in town, and I find myself rediscovering NYC with her. Yesterday, we went through Williamsburg, specifically the Lorimer stop off the L... the playground where I spent most of my days. Saw that 3rd Ward building and felt peace. It didn't feel like home anymore (because well it isn't), but I wasn't upset about it. I did however damn the laundry mat for giving Rich hard times but knew our vengeance was sitting on the roof the building (karma, Rich? haha).
Pinky elephant and friend! This is the blank wall where I will paint a giant tree for the lovely Megan. Super cool article about her and her creative crocheting co-workers in the nyt

On the agenda today... yoga to the people, yakatori in st. marks, volunteering at 826nyc, and other adventures! Stay tuned!
