Couplets for Owl
Friday, May 08, 2009
O is for owl, the crooner above the trees
who spends more time than he should lazily catching zee's
who spends more time than he should lazily catching zee's
B is for branch, his home, his perch
solid and sturdy, sewn from the finest corduroy birch!
solid and sturdy, sewn from the finest corduroy birch!
T is for tire, amongst the leaves it basks
ready give any one a swing, need they only ask
ready give any one a swing, need they only ask
F is for fun, spun & twirled
And for friends who invite imagination into their world
And for friends who invite imagination into their world
this one will soon tell another tale... stay tuned!
A Whale with a Story to Tell...
Monday, May 04, 2009
About his fear of water.
Never learned how to swim, but remembers his father:
"Swish your tail and flick your fin!
Your fears may be strong but don't give in."
What the whale felt but never did share
Is how much he longed to be in the air.
Away from his embarrassment and the fish-tank seas
He wiggled his way to the tops of the trees.
Humbug, he thought, how tedious of a chore!
So he wandered the office for a desk or a door.
"The window!" he exclaimed, "Will do just fine.
For viewing the birds and smelling the pine."
And there he sits to his heart's delight
dreaming of flying and the like.
thanks for the fotos, rachel!
