Progress Report #1: Havanese Doggy

Friday, August 20, 2010

I think I'm with Brad Bird & almost always go with the first sketch. Definitely captures the kind of energy I want the little lady doggy to have.

Mmmm, trying to figure out how to construct the plush is one of my favorite parts :)

I have the best job EVERRRR

I get to look at pictures of a cute fluffy doggy and figure out how to make it into a huggable plush!
soooooooo cute!!

Figure Drawing at Dr. Sketchy's

After two sessions of yoga, drinking INTENSELY caffeinated green tea (I didn't go to bed until 4:30am... that's 13 hours after drinking it!), and working for 4 hours outside, I met Adam at Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School. Conveniently, it's located down the street from my yoga studio. Hoorah! San Jose actually wins!

I haven't attended a figure drawing workshop in more than a year so it was a little rough getting back into it. I remember the days when I had could draw with a piece of charcoal in each hand and my hands would finish the lines the way two good friends could finish sentences. Yeah. Not there anymore. But I did start drawing with my left hand, and remembered how fun it is. I want more!! Haha, see, I can draw more than just chubby short kids playing with tin cans!

The guy had the COOLEST coat. Custom made. So awesome. I like the drawing on the right a lot... drawn with my left hand. YEAH!
