INSPIRES ME

Shout out to Rich & Linotype for sharing the goodness. Rich sent it to me already saying you're welcome. At first I thought "arrogant jerk." But dang. Head nodding never ceased. 18:00 especially hits the spot. As a painting exercise, I used to listen to a song on repeat and let the song inspire me. This is the first time a mix has had that effect on me. I think the falling leaves represent the musical goodness Rich shared with me.

I'll do a proper scan once it's done.

Weekend food festivities

Mmmmmochi, graham cracker, strawberry jam 'smmmmore'
Maple sugar bacon & sea salt caramel gelato. Two ice cream dishes before noon! O my!
It took two grown men to haul this cake. 'happy bITHday'
It appeared that Bruce was helping clean up at the party... But he was actually...
sneaking away to eat directly from the tray in the privacy of the kitchen. Yeah. I participated. So good.

There once was an empty bench...

He was lonely and knew he had many great qualities to offer the world. He called out to the neighboring plants, "Let's be friends & bathe in the sun together. I can protect you from the crawling creatures on the ground. Plus, you gotta check out this view. It's amazing."
Slowly, one by one the plants gathered.
Until the entire bench was filled with plants.
Then a giant man in purple and cords came over and ate them. Just kidding.

Work party is the best party

Friday, September 17, 2010

Mmmm... I love to work, especially amongst creative friends! It just makes the time so much more enjoyable and productive (sometimes...)
This little boy is soooo cute. Folded jeans courtesy of Adam. After the work party Victo, Rich & I ventured to Venice for a book signing party. Lots of geekery over stationery. It was fun, and so well decorated! It felt like a wedding.
They provided bubbly & sweets. Rich kicked these cookie clouds' butts!

Progress Report #3: Calendar Collaboration

Thursday, September 16, 2010

I've been slowly working on the calendar. It helps being here so I can actually talk to Victoria & brainstorm. What also helps is doing yoga twice a day again. Hoorah!
Here's October thus far.
And November...
So I was in my car talking on the phone, parked in a residential area, when I heard meowing. I wasn't quite sure where it was coming from. I thoroughly scanned my surroundings and didn't find the source. Then, all of a sudden, a CAT falls from the tree and onto the hood of my car. Ahhhh!! The kitty was very very friendly. In the evening, Victoria & I visited Reform School for a Pen Pal meeting. We cut out decipher wheels, wrote letters to our pen pals & geeked out about stationery. Oh fun fun fun.

LOS ANGELESSSSS!

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

I can't stay away from LA. Last time I was here, I was already searching for a reason to return. I found it in the form of Bob Wu's delivery of charmingwall gallery canvases & vending at LACE craft fair at the end of this month. Not too shabby, no?
Oh, it feels great to be back. Kevin & Bruce came over to Victo's and ate the chicken my mom cooked. Then we worked and worked the night awayI made more fabric tags! Yay!
Kevin graced us with his dessert... mochi, strawberry jam on graham crackers :)
Oh, another reason was to see b after essentially a year. Of course, OF COURSE, we met at Milk to go over my website and catch up.
He left quite the mess.
These are the sketches that came out as we talked.
Kevin & Rachel then shared their CSA delivery with Victo & me. Butternut squash.. yum!
Oh it feels so great to be back :)
