Racing against the sun

To start & finish 7 paintings. Oh brother!

1.5 hours later... not too shabby. I don't know why I enjoy timing myself.

Meet David Shannon!

I got to Hicklebee's and found a sea of babies!

David Shannon was actually quite hilarious. He read his latest book, 'It's Christmas, David!' to the crowd.

He then drew David & broke it down for everyone with a little story. The jagged teeth are based on his childhood friend's yellow, ugly teeth. His nose is a crooked triangle because he broke his nose 5 times. My favorite: the left nostril is bigger because he's left handed (nose-picking... chuckle chuckle :)

David: what accessory could we give David?

Everyone: A HAT!!

Small voice from the crowd: Awww, I was gonna say ornaments for earrings.

David: No crossdressing, David!

Here's a lil video I took of him explaining where he gets ideas for his books :)

Sketchbook Cover & Back

Not quite sure yet. Still playing. The blank space is for me to draw something just for YOU! I was going to add a edition labeling system sort of thing on the cover, but I think I'll let the back image describe which sketchbook it is. Thoughts?

May the Wild Holiday Rumpus Begin!

Putting together my sketchbook-for-sale

which be available for the holidays!

Storytime with David Wiesner

Yep. I was on the floor with all the kids, and definitely the only one over the age of 11.

Most valuable nugget of wisdom: 'Draw what you want. You can always learn to draw later.'

Seeing David Shannon today! Yay San Jose!

My First Bouldering Lesson

with sensei Adam at Castle Rock State Park

There were so many hidden forts & caves within the rocks

but this one's MY fort.

Helloooooo down there!

Great. I made it up here. Now how to get down...

Oh, and there goes Adam... Hm, what now?

Guess I'll just hang out here forever.
